An updated Hero Xtreme 160R 4V has been spotted at a recent dealer showcase, with the motorcycle expected to receive a host of new features similar to those seen on the Glamour X and the Xtreme 250R.

  1. Expected to receive ride modes and cruise control
  2. Gets new colour LCD console
  3. Major mechanical changes unlikely

Updated Hero Xtreme 160R 4V details

Gets redesigned front end and added features.

One of the biggest changes is the redesigned fascia. The headlamp now features a projector unit that sits within a sharper-looking housing, while the indicators are higher. This new headlight design was first seen on the bigger Xtreme 250R, and it has now trickled down to the 160R.

The bike is also equipped with a new colour LCD display, similar to the one seen on the Glamour X and Karizma XMR 210, along with new switchgear. This suggests Hero is continuing its strategy of introducing premium features on its entry-level models.

Notably, the left-hand switchgear includes a ‘Mode’ button, indicating the inclusion of riding modes. This also means that the bike now gets a ride-by-wire throttle, paving the way for cruise control, which was also introduced on the new Glamour.

The motorcycle appears unchanged mechanically, retaining the USD fork, rear monoshock and overall silhouette. The bike will likely continue with the same 163.2cc single-cylinder engine, producing 16.9hp and 14.6Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The updated Xtreme 160R 4V will be part of a segment that has seen increased activity recently, including the new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V that gets a TFT display, projector headlight and traction control. The current Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the upcoming updates are expected to command a slight premium.
