Ultraviolette X-47 Skyforce details
Purpose-built for operational police duty
Ultraviolette mentions that the X-47 Skyforce has been configured specifically for the Kolkata Police’s operational requirements. It features an electronics architecture that supports sirens, hooters, a public address system, LED blinkers, mic holders, walkie-talkie holders and side panniers.
Based on the base X-47, the Skyforce variant offers 211km of IDC range on a single charge and is capable of a top speed of 145kph. The rest of the hardware is also carried over, so suspension duties are handled by a 41mm USD fork at the front and a rear monoshock, with 170mm of wheel travel at both ends. Braking hardware comes from Bybre, with a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc.
Beyond the symbolic significance, Ultraviolette and Kolkata Police both point to operational economics as a driver, stating that electric motorcycles offer lower running and maintenance costs compared to petrol equivalents, making the transition financially as well as environmentally relevant.
