Royal Enfield recently hiked the price of its cross-spoke wheels substantially for existing owners – from Rs 12,424 to over Rs 40,000 – while continuing to offer them at the original price for new buyers. That’s changed now, with new customers also being charged a higher price – Rs 17,350 to be precise.

  1. Royal Enfield Himalayan 450’s cross-spoke wheels now cost Rs 17,350 via the MIY configurator
  2. That’s a Rs 4,926 hike over the earlier price of Rs 12,424 for new owners

Himalayan 450 cross-spoke wheels now cost more

Existing owners pay Rs 23,295 more for the same wheels compared to new buyers

Royal Enfield was widely praised for offering cross-spoke wheels at an unprecedented price point. At Rs 12,424 (including taxes), they were a practical addition for both new and existing owners of the Himalayan 450.

That changed last month when Royal Enfield significantly hiked the price of the cross-spoke wheels to over Rs 40,000. However, this steep increase initially affected only existing owners with the tubed spoke-wheel variant, as new buyers could still opt for the cross-spoke setup at the original price through the Royal Enfield MIY configurator at the time of purchase.

Now, Royal Enfield has increased the price on the configurator for new buyers – though not as drastically. The cross-spoke wheels now cost Rs 17,350, a difference of Rs 4,926. While this is a notable bump, it’s far from the hike for existing owners. In fact, when compared to what rivals charge – such as the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC’s cross-spoke wheels, which cost over Rs 35,000 each when bought separately – RE’s new price still feels reasonable.

Even with the hike, the Rs 17,350 asking price remains attractive, especially considering the real-world utility of cross-spoke wheels.

It continues to be a cost-effective option, even when compared to certain aftermarket tubeless conversion kits. However, this means existing owners now pay Rs 23,295 more for the same wheels compared to new buyers opting for them via the MIY configurator.
