The CBR300R was recently showcased at a motorcycle show in China and has now been displayed once again at the 71st edition of the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy.

The CBR300R will be produced at Honda’s Thailand production facility, from where this exciting new sportsbike will be shipped to various markets around the world.

Unlike the CBR250R which borrows styling cues from the VFR family, the CBR300R shares design philosophy with the Fireblade series sportsbikes, which is a good thing. The CBR300R’s nose, with twin sharply styled headlights and other body panels, clearly mirror that of the latest CBR1000RR.

The new CBR300R will house a 286cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder and liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine which generates maximum power of 30.4bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque of 2.75kgm at 7250rpm. This CBR will use 37mm telescopic fork suspension upfront and monoshock at the rear, which will be bolted onto a rectangular section swingarm. For braking, Honda has equipped the CBR300R with a single 296mm disc up front while a 220mm unit does duty at the rear with ABS as an option.

Expect the CBR300R to enter showrooms in India in 2014, after which it will take on arch rival, Kawasaki’s twin-cylinder Ninja 300.
