MV Agusta has launched its F3 800 AGO, a motorcycle replicating the MV Agusta Grand Prix bikes that made Giacomo Agostini a motorcycling legend.
Packed with oodles of geeky technology, the F3 800 AGO features an electronic engine with traction control. The handlebars showcase smart controls that allow the rider to choose from three different pre-set power delivery modes. Apart from this, power delivery can be customised as well, as the F3 800 AGO allows eight different configurations of the traction control settings, which can be disengaged if required. The rider has complete control over the setup process, thanks to the MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) that offers complete configuration of parameters like the ratio between throttle twist and throttle body opening.
On the safety front, the dual 320mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc is managed by ABS Bosch 9MP with race mode and the RLM system, which prevents the rear wheel from lifting off under hard braking.
Special care has been taken to shed the excess weight from the F3 800 AGO - the motorcycle gets carbon fibre on the front and rear fenders, making the bike even lighter, further improving its power-to-weight ratio. Another contribution comes from the forged rims that save two more kilograms compared to the standard version that weighs 173kg.
A silver plate attached to the steering yoke showcases a number certifying that the F3 800 AGO is one of MV Agusta's limited creations, as only 300 of these models will be manufactured with a personal autograph of fifteen times world champion Giacomo Agostini on the fuel tank. These bikes will be delivered along with a special certificate signed by Giacomo Agostini himself, providing the authenticity of the machines.
The F3 800 AGO will go on sale from the beginning of May 2014 at a price of Rs 19,96,714. MV Agusta has shown interest in the Indian market earlier, but is yet to make any concrete moves to come in.
