MV Agusta has revealed a lower-spec version of the Brutale 1000 RR, called the Brutale 1000 RS.
Skips the premium Ohlins suspension
Uses a revised riding position
Gets a more comfortable seat
The 2021 Brutale 1000 RR was launched in Europe with prices starting from an eye-watering €32,000 (around Rs 28.69 lakh). A price tag like that isn’t likely going to get MV the sales number it is looking for, as a result, in comes the Brutale 1000 RS.
2021 MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RS: differences
The RS comes equipped with a fully-adjustable Marzocchi USD fork and Sachs monoshock. It takes the place of the high-end semi-active Ohlins suspension components seen on the RR. The new RS does retain the Ohlins electronic steering damper though.
MV Agusta has also revised the riding position of the RS to be more upright. The bike uses slightly raised clip-on handlebars and new foot pegs. The new model is also said to have a more comfortable rider seat that uses dual-density foam. Other changes come in the form of different rear view mirrors and rear wheel.
2021 MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RS: what hasn’t changed
The Brutale RS uses the same 998cc inline-four as the RR and continues to churn out the same 208hp and 116.5Nm. Braking components remain unchanged, with flagship Brembo Stylema calipers biting down on twin 320mm discs up front. The RS also gets all of the electronics seen on the premium model, including the bi-directional quickshifter, a new Continental IMU, cornering ABS and the new 5.5-inch TFT display, which continues to feature Bluetooth navigation.
