390 Adventure X will soon be updated with all the electronic rider aids seen on the top-spec 390 Adventure.

Just a few months after its launch, we have learnt that Bajaj will be updating the KTM 390 Adventure X with all the electronic riding aids seen on the full-fat version of the 390 Adventure. Dealers have stopped taking bookings for the existing model and the updated 390 Adventure X is expected to be in showrooms within a few weeks’ time.

  1. KTM 390 ADV X will now get cruise control, cornering riding aids
  2. Will continue with non-adjustable suspension, 19/17-inch alloy wheels
  3. Rs 10,000-15,000 price increase likely, currently costs Rs 2.91 lakh

KTM 390 Adventure X to get more electronic features soon

Will have the same electronics package as the top 390 Adventure model.

People in the know have indicated that the 390 Adventure X will soon come with the same electronic rider aids as the top model. This means the X will now get cornering ABS and traction control – courtesy of the IMU – as well as 3 riding modes (Rain, Street, Off-road), which alter throttle sensitivity and power delivery as well as ABS & TC intervention.

The 390 Adventure X will also come with cruise control now (with its dedicated switchgear) which will be a rather valuable feature given owners regularly take it on long tours. This means that all the new-gen 399cc KTM 390 models now come with cruise control as standard, with the 373cc RC 390 being the exception.

What will stay the same is all the mechanical componentry. This means the non-adjustable long-travel suspension, 19/17-inch cast alloy wheels and Apollo Tramplr dual-purpose tyres will carry over from the previous model. The 399cc, liquid-cooled single will also continue unchanged and will make the same 46hp and 39Nm as before.

KTM 390 Adventure price expectation after update.

The KTM 390 Adventure X is currently priced at Rs 2.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in two colours – orange and white. With this update, we have been led to believe that prices will rise by Rs 10,000-15,000, which seems fair considering the added hardware and software. The updated KTM 390 Adventure X seems to be a more rounded package than ever and is sure to trouble its rivals (mainly the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450), and perhaps even its more expensive sibling.
