Kawasaki has announced that it will introduce two new small-engined bikes, the faired Ninja 125 and the naked Z125, to its global line-up in 2018.

The manufacturer, the only Japanese one without a 125cc bike in its current range, teased the two motorcycles with an image of their silhouettes at the ongoing EICMA motorcycle show.

The 125cc bikes target A1 license holders in Europe and are meant to provide an easy access to Kawasaki’s range of motorcycles.

In terms of design, expect the Ninja 125 and Z125 to follow in the footsteps of their larger siblings.

Powertrain and other technical information will be revealed as the motorcycles come closer to being officially introduced.

At the moment, the smallest Kawasaki on sale in India is the Z250 naked motorcycle, which retails at Rs 3.51 lakh (on-road, Delhi). Premium 125cc bikes like these find little space in our market, but you could look out for the Kawasaki Ninja 400 coming to India next year as a replacement for the existing Ninja 300.
