Hyosung’s tie up with DSK has paid off, tasting fair success in the recent past, boosted by its warmly received GV650 cruiser bike. DSK and Hyosung’s tie up recently completed its first year late in May 2013, this partnership marking Hyosung’s most successful innings in India to date, with sales of over 1,260 bikes in just 10 months (since August 2012) of commencing sales.

The next Korean bike for India is confirmed to be the GV250, a cruiser motorcycle reminiscent of the Hyosung Aquila that came to India back in 2003. The GV250 sports a single round headlight with chromed, cruiser like handlebars and rear view mirrors. Adding to its appeal are 6-spoke machined alloys wheels and other engine parts finished in chrome. The GV250 gets a cruiser typical fuel tank, split rider and pillion seats and low, swooping rear tail section. The GV250 houses a four-stroke, V-twin, 249cc oil-cooled and fuel-injected engine that outputs maximum power close to 28bhp. The 8-valve engine is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox and transfers power to its rear wheel via an exposed chain. The GV250 uses basic telescopic fork front suspension and dual shock absorbers at the rear. This cruiser comes equipped with a single disc brake in front, and drum type rear brake.

Launch dates for the GV250 are not yet in, but DSK Motowheels are aiming at the year-end, when they will bring the bike in as a CKD. Expect this stylish, relatively affordable Hyosung motorcycle to strike a chord with motorcycle enthusiasts around the country, mirroring larger capacity stable mate, the GV650.
