Honda’s eagerly awaited CBR650R will be sold in India very soon. The bike will be assembled at Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s Manesar plant in Haryana.

Honda has made enthusiasts look forward to the launch of the CBR650F, mainly due to its in-line four-cylinder engine layout. This will be the second motorcycle after Benelli’s TNT 600i which will be equipped with the mentioned layout. The bike will also have the same specifications as the one sold in global markets.

The Honda CBR650F will be equipped with a 649cc, four-stroke, 4-cylinder DOHC engine that produces 87bhp at 11,000rpm and peak torque of 6.4kg at 8,000rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, shifting in the 1-down and 5-up pattern. The motorcycle’s engine will be tuned to deliver power immediately, right from the beginning of its powerband, to aid hassle-free riding on Indian conditions.

Suspension duty will be carried out by the conventional 41mm telescopic forks up front and at rear, the CBR will use a preload adjustable monoshock set-up. For braking, the CBR650F uses 320mm dual disc brakes up front allowing good stopping power, and at rear, the sportsbike uses a single-caliper 240mm disc brake set-up. Honda will provide ABS braking as standard.

Honda is also set to launch its new commuter motorcycle called Livo in India on 10 July, 2015.
