The Honda CB Shine launched here in 2006 and was well received in our market, going on to set new records across India, and worldwide. The Shine has overtaken its rivals to take the lead in its segment by a massive 61 percent. Honda has just rolled out the 30th lakh Shine at its Tapukara plant, Rajasthan, making this the highest-selling 125cc motorcycle ever.
On the global front, CB Shine has also become Honda’s number-one seller. To celebrate this milestone, HMSI president and CEO, Keita Muramatsu, was present at the rollout of the 30th lakh motorcycle. He said, “We thank our valued customers, business partners and associates for this remarkable feat. CB Shine is not only the number one selling 125cc motorcycle in India but also the world. For the first time ending FY’14, CB Shine has become the number one selling motorcycle for Honda Motor Company, Japan worldwide.”
VP, sales and marketing, HMSI, Y S Guleria, added, “CB Shine has become India’s first ever 125cc motorcycle to achieve 30 lakh unit sales. To meet a still growing demand for the popular Shine, Honda is now additionally producing this model at its Narsapura plant, Karnataka.
