Hero MotoCorp opens fourth facility in India

Hero MotoCorp’s fourth manufacturing facility has opened doors at Neemrana, Rajasthan. The automaker's fourth plant was inaugurated in the presence of Hero MotoCorp Vice Chairman, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Pawan Munjal as a part of the company's grand vision to surpass a cumulative production of 100 million units by 2020. The Neemrana factory incorporates several green initiatives, including ‘Big Foot’ air handlers as well as several modern water, waste and energy optimisation measures.

The Neemrana production unit joins existing Hero MotoCorp manufacturing units in Dharuhera, Gurgaon and Haridwar, taking Hero’s combined installed production capacity to 7.65 million per annum, on course to meet its 2020 objective  of achieving an annual capacity of 12 million two-wheelers.

Hero has invested Rs. 1,050 crore as an initial investment to set up this plant. The company plans to manufactue high-end two-wheelers at this facility in the future. The new plant has an annual capacity of 750,000 units, which can be upgraded when required.

Hero MotoCorp is also about to begin construction at two more manufacturing plants, a fifth in Gujarat and sixth in Andhra Pradesh. Once all six plants are operational, counting production figures output at Hero’s Colombia and Bangladesh production units, Hero MotoCorp will boast a capacity of 12 million two-wheelers per year.
