The Honda Activa 125 gets fuel injection to become BS6 compliant.

After teasing us with a video of a pin falling with text that read: “Please hold a pin- drop silence.”, Honda has revealed its first – and India’s second – BS6-compliant two-wheeler – the fuel-injected Activa 125. This is the first of many models that'll be part of the company’s ‘quiet revolution’.

Honda has said the all-new Activa 125 BS6 is developed with as many as 26 new patent applications. While it still uses a 125cc motor, the Activa 125 now features the company’s PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) and Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) tech that the company claims ‘optimises energy output by maximising efficient combustion’.

Along with the new motor, the Activa 125 gets a starter system that is said to have become quiet, digi-analogue instrumentation, idle-start stop system and more. The new instrument cluster also displays real-time fuel efficiency and distance-to-empty. An idle start-stop system, similar to that seen on Hero’s new scooters, makes it to the new Activa 125. Other updates include a side stand indicator and an external fuel filler cap.

The Honda Activa 125 also gets a segment-best warranty period of six years (three years standard + three years optional extended).

Interestingly, Hero announced its first BS6 motorcycle, the Hero Splendor iSmart just two days ago, making it the first two-wheeler manufacturer in the country to introduce a BS6 model. However, the new Honda Activa 125 does hold of the title of 'India's first BS6-compliant scooter'.

The BS6-compliant Honda Activa 125 will go on sale by September 2019.
