Bajaj Auto has introduced a new variant to its Platina bike line-up. Priced at Rs 42,650 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the mid-level ES Spoke gives the top-spec ES’ alloy wheels a miss, but retains the electric starter, which has resulted in an approximately Rs 3,000 price difference between the two. The top-spec Platina ES is priced at Rs 45,638.
The new variant’s powerplant is identical to that of its siblings. It is the same 102cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.2hp of power at 7,500 rpm and 8.6Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. The motor is mated to a four-speed gearbox that helps the Platina reach a claimed top speed of 90kph and cover 96.9km on a litre of fuel.
The suspension upgrades that are offered on the Platina ComforTec have been carried forward to this trim as well. The 110mm front and rear drums, 11-litre fuel tank and 17-inch rubber are from the other variants.
The Platina ES Spoke variant bike is available in two colours, red and black.
