Bajaj has recently announced that it has received an order of 1.25 lakh motorcycles from the Sri Lankan government. The said motorcycles will be one of the company’s entry-level commuters, the Discover 125M. Bajaj is the country’s largest exporter of motorcycles and three-wheelers. This order was bagged by its distributor in Sri Lanka, David Pieris Motor Company.

Bajaj first received an order to supply 50,000 motorcycles, of which, 48,000 have already been provided to the country. The new order of 1.25 lakh Discovers will be executed in the coming three or four months, claims Bajaj.

The Bajaj Discover 125M is sold in two variants, the 125M with drum brakes priced at Rs 48,532 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the 125M with disc brakes priced at Rs 50,530. The ‘M’ in the moniker stands for mileage, and the Discover 125M is truly one of the most fuel-efficient bikes on sale in the Indian market today.
