Recently, Rajiv Bajaj stated at the company’s 10th Annual General Meeting that they were very close to announcing an exciting alliance. That news is now official with a thoroughly exciting announcement from both brands – beginning a new global alliance.

The details are minimal at the moment, but for now, it is clear that this will be a non-equity alliance between both brands. The fruits of this alliance will be motorcycles in the mid-capacity range that will benefit from both Bajaj and Triumph’s collective strengths.

Triumph will benefit from a much wider global reach in emerging markets, especially in segments with higher volumes than the British brand is used to. Bajaj, meanwhile, will gain access to an iconic brand and the famed motorcycles that come from it. This alliance will help Bajaj to go upscale in a segment of relaxed motorcycles that will probably exist alongside, or perhaps higher than, the existing KTM Duke and RC family.

We will share more details as we get further updates.
