Suzuki has launched the 2018 edition of the Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP variants. The Gixxer SP has been priced at Rs 87,250, while the Gixxer SF SP retails for Rs 1,00,630 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The 2018 SP editions are available in a unique black and gold dual-tone shade (Metallic Majestic Gold/Glass Sparkle Black) and a single-channel ABS is standard. Both the motorcycles also feature an SP emblem on the tank extensions along with new graphics on the front cowl and the fuel tank.
Commenting on the launch, Sajeev Rajasekharan, Executive Vice President, SMIPL said, “Since its launch in India in 2014, the Gixxer brand has metamorphosed into a synonym that embodies Suzuki’s attributes of quality, styling and performance. It is our constant effort to reinvigorate the Gixxer portfolio with new freshness and value. We are confident that with the new 2018 special edition series, this exciting ride is set to continue.”
Apart from the visual updates, no changes have been made to the Gixxer siblings. Both the motorcycles are powered by a 155cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 14.8hp at 8,000rpm and 14Nm at 6,000rpm. While the Gixxer SF SP comes with fuel-injection, the Gixxer employs a carburettor. Cycle parts like the frame, suspension and brakes have been unchanged on both the bikes.
