Deliveries for the limited edition Ducati Diavel Diesel have commenced. Ducati is reintroducing the Diavel family in India after sales stopped during the switch from BSIII to BSIV emission norms. The first Diavel to return to our shores is the Diesel edition Diavel, which is limited to 666 units worldwide. Ducati has not confirmed how many will make it to India but we expect this to be a small number based on customer orders. The Ducati Diavel Diesel edition has been launched at Rs 21.7 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The Diavel Diesel was launched back in March 2017, but had to be withdrawn on April 1 due to the more stringent emission regulations. At that point, the price was Rs 19.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) but the new GST regulations have pushed that up to the current Rs 21.7 lakh. Customers who had originally booked the Diavel Diesel were put on hold and will now get deliveries of the new BSIV-spec bike.

Unveiled at the Milan Men’s Fashion Week 2017, the Ducati Diavel Diesel is the product of a creative collaboration between the Ducati Design Centre and Andrea Rosso, Diesel’s licensing creative director. A standout feature on the Diesel edition is the hand-brushed stainless steel bodywork with visible welding and rivets. The brown leather seat is unique to this Diavel and features a pyramid emblem with the three Ds of Ducati, Diavel and Diesel.

The big cruiser also comes with red lateral intake covers with the Diesel logo. The red detailing on the motorcycle doesn’t stop there; it is also on the front brake calipers and the LCD dash. In a unique touch, five of the chain links get the red treatment too, but we suspect keeping that clean and visible on our roads will be a task in the long term. The Diavel Diesel also features a blacked out exhaust system with the same pyramid logo.

The Diavel Diesel is available at Ducati dealerships in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kochi and Kolkata. The company has confirmed that the standard Diavel will return in BSIV-spec by the end of October 2017.

In other news, Ducati India has also launched special festive season offers on select motorcycles like the Monster 797, Multistrada 950 and Scrambler. These include exclusive finance schemes, exchange offers and apparel and accessory benefits of up to Rs 1 lakh for a limited period.
