Porsche will run two 963s in Apple Computer-inspired livery at Laguna Seca on May 3, during round four of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The one-off design is based on the Apple spectrum livery used on the Porsche 935 K3 that raced in 1980, including at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Porsche says the wrap marks 75 years of Porsche Motorsport and 50 years since Apple was founded. The two Porsche Penske Motorsport cars in the GTP class will carry the special livery. Car No. 6 will be driven by Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor, while No. 7 will be shared by Julien Andlauer and Felipe Nasr. Porsche also leads both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ standings heading into the Laguna Seca round. Porsche’s customer teams will also race at Laguna Seca. JDC-Miller MotorSports will field a Porsche 963 in GTP, while AO Racing and Wright Motorsports will run Porsche 911 GT3 R cars in GTD Pro and GTD respectively.
