- Kawasaki has given the 2016 ZX-10R a number of evident updates, but cosmetic changes are minor.
– The updates have been heavily influenced by Kawasaki’s WSBK racing technology.
Overall, the new 10R is slightly higher, wider and longer than the older model.
At the front the 10R gets the Showa Balance Free Forks (BFF) which makes its debut here.
The windscreen is slightly wider than before, and it gets cleverly placed side intakes to reduce negative air pressure.
The instrument cluster looks familiar but it does feature a number of updates.
The left handlebar gets a rocker switch equipped with a ‘Select’ button which lets you control all the functions on the instrument cluster.
Seating posture is much more aggressive due to the foot pegs which are placed higher up.
The mid-section fairing and tank are borrowed from the older 10R, but the tail section is all new.
- The front fairing has been slightly redesigned and sports smoother curves than the older 10R.
The 2016 10R retains the same 998cc, 16-valve, DOHC, inline-four engine layout as the previous model.
- It comes equipped with twin Brembo M50 monobloc, four-piston calipers, attached to 330mm discs up front, and a two-piston Nissin caliper attached to a 220mm disc at the rear.
