The 2026 Yamaha R7 brings some notable updates over the previous model, including the addition of a new 5-inch TFT display paired with an advanced six-axis IMU system developed from the YZF-R1. This enables a comprehensive suite of rider aids including traction control, slide control, wheelie control, brake control, engine braking management and launch control. Riders can customise settings via Yamaha Ride Control with three riding modes (Sport, Street, Rain), two customisable modes and four track modes. The 698cc twin-cylinder engine remains mechanically unchanged, producing 73.4hp at 8,750rpm and 68Nm at 6,500rpm, but gains an advanced third-generation quickshifter system. The bike now runs on lighter 10-spoke wheels made through Yamaha's spin-forging process, wrapped in Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tyres. Minor styling changes include a sharper, sleeker front end with LED indicators integrated into the mirrors.
