Could you please confirm whether KTM plans to launch either the KTM RC 490 or the KTM RC 450 in India? I would like to know if any official launch has been announced or whether either model is expected to enter the Indian market in the near future.

Neither the KTM RC 450 (currently on sale) nor an expected RC 490 (touted to use a new sub-500cc, twin-cyl platform) are currently confirmed for an Indian launch. The RC 450 is based on the CFMoto 450 SR-S platform and is manufactured by the Chinese brand, so an Indian arrival is all but out of the picture. The RC 490, if it even materialises in the first place, is at least 2-3 years away, if not more.

Skoda Kylaq is the better family automatic, mainly because it gives you a bit more cabin and boot space and a calmer ride over bad roads. It feels more secure at highway speeds with a full load, and its turbo engine with the automatic pulls cleanly, so hills and quick overtakes are easy even with the AC on. The petrol Kylaq automatic uses a torque convertor gearbox which is also smoother than the dual clutch unit on the Sonet so it would fare better in city traffic. Kia Sonet makes sense if you want more features and need Kia’s service reach which is wider. For weekend trips with four on board it will do the job too, but rear seat width and long-journey comfort are not its strong points and within a year it will get a major update, thus buying it now would not be ideal.

Hi, I am planing to buy either creta or alcazar, but want to know which fuel will be good. My total running is around 1300-1500Km monthly, out of this 5-7 times in a month travel to noida to gurgaon and two times in a month to out of city, approx 500Km per trip. Please advice suitable fue variant for me.

Go for the diesel engine in the Hyundai Creta or the Alcazar. With 1,300-1,500km a month and two 500km highway trips, the diesel will save you a good amount of money on fuel and feel more relaxed at highway speeds, especially with family and bags. Your regular long runs will also keep the DPF clean, so the time you spend in Noida-Gurgaon traffic should not be an issue.The only catch is Delhi-NCR’s 10-year cap on diesel cars and the odd winter clampdown on diesel models. If you plan to keep the car beyond 8-10 years or want zero risk of restrictions, petrol is the safer bet.Between the two SUVs, pick the Alcazar diesel only if you actually need the third row; otherwise, the Creta diesel is lighter, a bit more efficient, and cheaper to buy. If you must go petrol, the Creta 1.5 petrol suits calm city use and will drink less than the turbo; the turbo petrols are quicker but thirstier in traffic.

I want to buy my first car. I have narrowed my choices down to the Tata Tiago EV and Tata Punch EV. My budget is up to Rs 14 lakh, and I prefer buying an EV. The vehicle will mainly be used for my daily office commute, which is 64 km per day. Occasionally, I will drive to Vijayawada, which is around 350 km from where I currently live.

Buy the Tata Punch EV 40kWh. Your 350 km Vijayawada runs are the decider. The Punch’s bigger battery needs just one quick fast-charge on the way, while the Tiago EV would likely need two and will feel a bit more out of breath at highway speeds. For a 64 km daily commute, the Punch lets you charge less often at home and its extra ground clearance and space make life easier in traffic, rain and weekend trips.Whichever you choose, check DC fast chargers along your path. With the Punch, one 40-60 minute top-up en route is usually enough; with the Tiago EV, plan two shorter stops. If you have home parking for overnight charging, the Punch EV is the smoother all-rounder for you.

Also, the Citroen brand has a small dealer network, so ready service is available only in pockets. Further, the Citroen brand is not very strong at the moment, and this will impact resale value down the road.Also note, the diesel engine is best suited for longer runs. Pick the strong-hybrid variants of the Maruti Grand Vitara, Victoris or Toyota Hyryder. The hybrid powertrain is very efficient; it is an automatic, and Toyota’s hybrid tech has a proven track record worldwide, so keeping it for 8-10 years should be stress-free.Since you don't drive out of the station at all, you could also consider the Hyundai Creta Electric with a 42kWh battery. For your daily office commute, it is a smooth, reliable option.

Dear Auto Experts, I need a merciless, data-backed verdict to complete my garage. Around 3 months ago, I sold my Toyota Fortuner Legender 4x2 (which was just 2 years and 9 months old) because I grew highly frustrated with its hard steering and lack of modern tech features, specifically ADAS. To replace it, I purchased a Mahindra Thar Roxx AX7L Diesel Automatic 4x2 a month ago. However, I only plan to drive it 2 days a week. Additionally, my wife purchased a Mahindra Thar Roxx MX1 Manual last year in November. I am now looking to finance another vehicle via an auto loan, with a budget of Rs. 18 Lakh to Rs. 28 Lakh. This new vehicle will be used for rough-and-tough regular city driving 3 to 4 days a week in heavy traffic. It will also serve as the primary vehicle for occasional long highway trips with my family. My Strict Requirements include: Status & Road Presence: This is non-negotiable. Even though it is my 3-to-4-day city vehicle, it must command road respect and serve as a status symbol, while offering the light steering and ADAS tech my Fortuner lacked. Fuel & Transmission: Diesel Automatic is preferred, but I am very open to considering Strong Hybrids (especially the upcoming generation of high-efficiency models). I can manage DPF requirements without issue if going with diesel. Ownership Cycle: I do not hold onto cars for long; my replacement cycle is strictly 3 to 4 years. End Goal: Exceptionally high resale value. I need a vehicle that second-hand dealers can easily flip to out-of-state buyers for a premium when I am ready to sell, clear the loan, and upgrade. Or Should I Wait For Upcoming Hybrids/Updates (2026-2027): Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (Rumored to arrive in India in late 2026. Is it worth waiting for and potentially stretching my budget, or will it be overpriced?) Upcoming K3 Platform Hyundai Creta Strong Hybrid. The XUV 7XO AX7L Diesel AT is the cleanest fit for your requirement today, and frankly, none of the other current options line up as well with the exact brief you have laid out.The fact that you already own two Mahindra cars is not necessarily a negative from a financial point of view either, because right now Mahindra SUVs have some of the strongest demand and resale momentum in the market. In fact, from a resale perspective over a 3 to 4 year ownership cycle, the 7XO is probably the safest bet in your shortlist. It also solves the exact frustrations you had with the Fortuner by offering much lighter controls, modern ADAS tech and a far more feature rich experience while still maintaining proper SUV presence.The new Seltos diesel AT is a very polished product and will likely feel more premium inside, but you have already identified the key issue yourself. It still feels like a size smaller in terms of sheer road presence and overall “status factor” compared to something like the 7XO.The Venue diesel AT should not even be in this discussion. It may be sensible, but it does not deliver the sense of occasion, size or highway authority you are clearly looking for.As for waiting, the upcoming Creta and Seltos strong hybrids expected next year will make sense from an efficiency perspective, but they will still fundamentally remain mid size SUVs.
