I want to purchase a scooter and am confused between TVS and Suzuki. My priority is a comfortable ride in both city and highway conditions. I need a good suspension scooter to handle bumpy roads and a comfortable riding position. Mileage is not a concern, and neither are looks, pickup, or power. I usually ride at speeds between 40-50 km/h and am not looking for a sporty ride. Please suggest, as I am confused between the Jupiter, Access, Ntorq, and Avenis.

Your concerns about the Royal Enfield Bullet 350's weight are justified, to an extent. Yes, at 195kg, you will feel every ounce when moving it around in the parking lot or at slower city speeds, but once you get moving, the weight fades into the background and doesn't pose a hindrance. The Bullet / Classic 350 have a soulful, slow-revving thumper which works well when you ride in a relaxed and unhurried fashion. Royal Enfield bikes also have a good reputation for resale value, especially when it comes to the popular 350s. If instead you want a different experience, look at the 350cc Triumph Speed T4. The T4 is much lighter and has better performance as well as handling. It also comes from a reputable brand and should realistically not throw any unwelcome surprises into your ownership experience.

If you can sort out secure charging at your residence, then going for a proven electric scooter like the TVS iQube, Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, or Vida VX2 would be our recommendation. For daily use, an e-scooter will be more practical and also save you money with its lower running costs. While the Yamaha MT-15 will surely be more fun and engaging to ride, it won't be able to match the practicality or low running costs of an EV. If you can't go for an EV, but want something more affordable than your MT, then look at 160cc commuters like TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160 and Honda Unicorn / SP160. Take a test ride of these products before you make your decision, depending on what category you're shopping in.

The Apache has a friendly 800mm seat height, plush suspension that still gives you the composure you need when riding hard and a punchy engine. The Dominar has an approachable 800mm seat height, is comfortable, has enough performance and comes with a lot of essentials that you need to go touring, right out of the showroom. It is a heavy machine, but its weight lends it stability on the highway, although at slower city speeds, you will feel it.Take test rides of both before you make a decision to see which one suits your usage pattern better.
