I have a Kia Syros diesel manual and am planning to buy a second car with a budget of ₹12 lakh. Please suggest a car that offers good handling, is easy to drive, and is compact in size.

Check out the Citroen C3 X, which is one of the most dynamically sorted cars at its price, and quite underrated too. Typical of French cars, the suspension setup is superbly tuned for a mix of exceptional comfort and sharp handling, and it also features a communicative steering system for a car in this class. Combine that with a punchy and smooth 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, and you have a car that's a lot of fun to drive.
With the recent C3 X update, it now gets the features it was missing previously, but you can still get a fully-loaded model - with a smooth 6-speed AT gearbox, if you like - in your budget of Rs 12 lakh.
You could also consider the Skoda Kylaq, which is a bit more spacious, but in your budget, you will only get a mid-spec model.

I am looking to purchase a new car under 20-22 lacs within another 3 months. Actually, I'm a car enthusiast and love performance cars. I would be travelling within city everyday and out of the state once every 1-2 months. So, please suggest me accordingly.

The 1.5TSI versions of the Skoda Kushaq, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Taigun and Volkswagen Virtus, will certainly bring a smile to your face with their performance as well as dynamic prowess. All these feel similar from behind the wheel, so pick the body style you prefer - sedan or SUV. Out of these, the Kushaq is likely to get updated in the coming weeks, so you may want to check that out before making your decision. On the other hand, if you want a car that looks sporty, drives well, and has features like ADAS, you could also consider a Hyundai Creta N Line and Verna.

I have a 2011 Karizma ZMR that I love for its trouble-free and reliable performance, and I’ve ridden it across South India making great memories. Now I want to buy a new bike because this one has aged, though it is still in good shape. I want a large, reliable bike similar to the Karizma. I like Japanese bikes and also Honda 350, and I find the Triumph appealing. My budget is ₹3-3.5 lakh on road in Bangalore. Please recommend suitable bikes.

The Honda CB350 models you are looking at are comfortable, reliable and decently fuel-efficient bikes which will last you a long time without any major troubles, by and large. Pick the one you like the look of the most or the one that's the most affordable, depending on your preference, because all three are largely mechanically very similar. The Triumph Speed 400 is also a great bike, but it has a much higher performance ceiling and will feel like a step up in terms of performance and handling. If that is the sort of experience you are after, it makes sense to go with the Triumph.A test ride of both will help you figure out which is better for you.

I’m planning to buy a car. I’m a 37-year-old man and feel confused about which option would be both safe and comfortable for city driving as well as occasional highway use. I’m looking for an automatic variant, with a budget of up to ₹8-9 lakh. Please suggest suitable options.

Almost all cars today are equipped with basic safety features like ESP, along with ABS with EBD. It helps prevent an accident in the first place, and these also have 6 airbags to protect the occupants in case of a collision. Hence, as far as safety features go, most cars have you covered. That said, if you're looking for an automatic vehicle with an excellent 5-star BNCAP crash test rating within your budget, the Maruti Dzire AMT is the one to go for. The engine is smooth and refined, and even the AMT (automatic) is relatively smoother than many other options at this price. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, and it drives well on the highway, too. Alternatively, you could consider the Maruti Baleno or Toyota Glanza, both of which are 4-star BNCAP-rated vehicles.
