I drive about 100 km every day and currently use a Ford EcoSport Titanium diesel with 151,250 km on the odometer. I want to switch to an automatic compact SUV within ₹16 lakh on-road. I’m considering the Toyota Hyryder, Kia Carens, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta. Mileage and driving comfort are my top priorities. Please suggest which one I should choose.

Given your daily driving and usage, a diesel would make most sense. The Kia Sonet diesel-automatic is a great choice. Its 1.5-litre diesel is refined and peppy enough, while the automatic transmission is really smooth. Great cabin quality and a long list of features are other highlights of the Sonet.

Do note, the new-generation Hyundai Venue launches on November 4 and is expected to be offered with the same diesel engine and automatic transmission combo. Being a newer vehicle, it could offer a few pluses over the Sonet.
