I have always wanted to buy a two-stroke as my first motorcycle. I have been thinking between - Suzuki Max 100 R, Hero Honda CD 100 SS, and Bajaj KB 100. The primary concern I have is about service centers. Will Hero or Honda service centers accept to service the Hero Honda CD 100 SS? Similarly, will the Bajaj service center be able to service the KB 100? Where can I service the Suzuki Max 100 R?

Getting a 2-stroke machine isn't all that difficult, but you are right to worry about maintenance. While authorized dealers are unlikely to agree to service them, considering these bikes have been around for so long, you should be able to find a trustworthy local mechanic.
Between the Suzuki Max 100 R and the Kawasaki KB100, the former will be easier to find service technicians for, as it was quite a popular machine owing to its hardy workhorse nature back in its time.
And just so you're on the right track, the Hero Honda CD100SS was powered by a 4-stroke engine.

I am looking to buy a first scooter for my daughter, who is just learning to ride. She is around 4 ft 10 inches tall, and her expected monthly running will be approximately 300 km. We are open to both electric and petrol scooters. Could you please suggest the best options that are easy to handle, comfortable for shorter riders, and safe for beginners?

For a newer rider of shorter stature, we recommend the TVS Zest 110. With a low 760mm seat height and a light 103kg weight, it is one of the most approachable machines available today. More mainstream options, such as the Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, and Suzuki Access, are also worth considering in the petrol scooter segment, provided your daughter is comfortable with their slightly heavier weight and taller seats. In the electric scooter space, take a look at the TVS Orbiter, which is like the Scooty Zest. It also has a low 760mm seat height, which will be friendly for a shorter and newer rider. The Orbiter comes with two battery capacities - 1.8kWh and 3.1kWh - and since your daily running is rather low, it would be advisable to go with the smaller battery pack. Similarly, the new Bajaj Chetak C2501 also has an approachable 763mm perch, and its lithe build will also give your daughter confidence.A test ride of these is essential to understand which machine your daughter finds easy to get along with. And you'll also need to decide whether you want a petrol-powered scooter or a battery-powered one.

I have been using a TVS Ronin for the past four months, and I am experiencing a heating issue. Would it be advisable to upgrade the engine oil grade from 10W-30 to 10W-40 to address this problem?

From a strictly technical standpoint, the higher grade 10W40 oil should theoretically help in hotter climates like ours because it will retain its viscosity at higher temperatures better than 10W30. Thereby being better suited to cooling the TVS Ronin's air/oil-cooled motor. However, this will likely void your warranty if it isn't recommended by TVS. We would advise you to stick to whatever the owner's manual and service advisors recommend, especially if your bike is still inside the warranty period. If your manual or service advisor strictly specifies 10W30 only, or you ride mostly in cooler weather, consider switching to a fully synthetic 10W30 oil from a different brand instead to keep cold‑flow performance optimal. But before you do all this, we'd first recommend a trip to the service centre to ensure that idle RPM is set as per the manufacturer's recommendation. Also, make sure to clean the engine’s as well as the oil cooler's fins and airflow path. Then, use the bike for a few weeks as you normally would to see if that has solved your problem.
