I’m confused between the Tata Sierra turbo petrol and the Thar Roxx diesel automatic. This will be my first car. It should be a comfortable five-seater. Majority usage would be in Bangalore city.

The Tata Sierra and the Mahindra Thar Roxx are completely different vehicles. The Roxx is a hardcore off-roader built on a body-on-frame chassis that can withstand a lot of abuse. However, as a daily driver, it's not as user-friendly or comfortable as the Tata Sierra.

The Sierra's back seat is very spacious, and the ride quality is exceptional. The Thar Roxx has a wide rear seat too, but has a lumpy ride, lacks, and is a bit cumbersome to handle compared to the more compact and agile Sierra.

Iam owning two cars 1) XUV 700 2025 model 2) Tata vista 2012 model Now vista getting trouble with AC issue and brake failures , so it’s time change the car to some 5 seaters When I started to search some cars below 10 lakhs ,I have seen many cars have petrol variants cars only me and my dad diesel engine lovers So we decided to upgrade our amount range to 12 lakh, in that range we seen 1)TATA NEXON - high end model( we have both customer and car service issue in Tata) 2)XUV 3X0 - MX2 pro variant a base variant 3)Hyundai -Venue 1.5 MT variant 4) Kia sonet a base variant Finally Me and dad had some dramatic idea to get THAR RWD Is that okay get for our comfortable city use and short range are suggest me some cars under 12 lakh but it should be diesel car

With a daily running of around 50 to 60 km, a diesel automatic makes good sense as your monthly usage will easily justify the better fuel efficiency and relaxed nature of a diesel engine.Between the two options, the Kia Seltos diesel automatic is the better choice overall. The diesel engine is refined, and the 6-speed torque converter automatic is smooth and well-suited for normal city traffic as well as highway drives.The Tata Sierra is also a strong Midsize SUV with more cabin space. But its diesel engine is noticeably noisier and less refined than the Hyundai-Kia diesel. It is also over a lakh more expensive in comparable automatic variants.For your usage and preference for an automatic, the Seltos diesel automatic is the more balanced and sensible option thanks to its refinement, smooth gearbox and lower price.

I am confused between the Mahindra XUV 7XO AX5 and Mahindra XUV 7XO AX7 variants, as I prefer practicality over extra features. Alternatively, should I consider waiting for the Tata Sierra?

If you don't mind the additional spend, we'd recommend the Mahindra XUV 7XO in AX7 trim. Elements like its larger 18-inch alloy wheels and leatherette upholstery add greatly to the look and feel of things. While auto climate control, a 540-degree camera and front parking sensors are features you will appreciate every day. The Tata Sierra is not a like-for-like alternative to the Mahindra 7XO. The 7XO is larger, more powerful and also offers three rows of seating.Further, the 7XO is slightly pricier, too. Within Tata's range, the Tata Safari is an alternative to the 7XO.
