I currently own a Hyundai i20 Sportz IVT that has completed 5 years with roughly 25 thousand kilometres. I am now planning to upgrade. Is turbo worth it or will naturally aspirated engine work? I am looking for a car that should not be longer than 4.2m and should offer decent mileage mainly for city driving. Can you suggest the most suitable car in this category?
Coming from an i20 petrol-IVT, you're used to a smooth and seamless drive, hence your next car has to replicate that, if not better the experience, irrespective of whether it is powered by a naturally aspirated petrol or a turbo-petrol engine.
Given your low usage, car length constraints and budget of Rs.10-15 lakh, we'd suggest you shorlist the following compact SUVs - Skoda Kylaq AT and Mahindra XUV 3XO AT.
The Skoda Kylaq AT has the lowest starting price, at around Rs. 11 lakh (on-road), and it feels like a solid car with impressive driving manners. Sure, cabin space isn't generous, but the seats are comfy, and its engine-gearbox combination is very good.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO AT too starts just under Rs 12 lakh (on-road), and it is one tough compact SUV with a powerful engine and a spacious cabin. If you travel with five occupants regularly, this will be the better bet.
