Given your positive experience with the Mahindra car, upgrading to an XUV 3XO would be a good choice. It has a powerful diesel engine that is responsive and refined. It has all the latest safety kit with a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP, and with a diesel engine, it offers low running costs as well.

The ride comfort is also positive, and it holds its own very well on bad roads. In your budget, you can get the AX7 trim that gets a well-equipped cabin with the necessary features.

I want to replace it with a compact or full-size SUV and have shortlisted the Elevate, Aircross and the new Dustor. I have been evaluating other cars (Harrier, Hector, Victoris and the Tata Sierra) but none have satisfied me. My on-road budget in Bangalore is 20-25 lakh. Please help me choose. A good option to also look at would be the newly unveiled Kia Seltos. It is a new generation model with a lot of changes, an upmarket cabin and even more features added. Kia has also retained the powertrain options so should you want a diesel, you can get that as well. If you want a bigger SUV, the Mahindra XUV 700 will also be updated to the Mahindra XUV 7XO with a refreshed look and new features in January. Although it is worth noting that the XUV will be pushing the Rs 25 lakh mark in terms of price. The Renault Duster is also an iconic model that is set to make a comeback next month so it is definitely worth waiting for.

Asked by: Krishna Yadav I am planning to upgrade from an XUV700 to a Jeep Compass. Will it truly be an upgrade, and does it make sense? Is it worth it? Moving to a Jeep Compass from an Mahindra XUV 700 will definitely not be an upgrade. The XUV 700 is more powerful, better equipped, a lot more spacious and practical and nicer to drive. The only area where the Compass has an advantage is while off-roading where the suspension performs well and the dimensions help traverse tough terrain. Apart from that one plus point, you will not find the Compass as an upgrade to the XUV 700.

My must-haves are an automatic torque-converter or CVT transmission and ventilated seats. Which car should I choose? Also, should I wait for the Brezza facelift in case it offers ventilated seats? Considering your requirements, the Hyundai Venue in HX10 guise will be a good option. It gets a turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox and has a lengthy feature list, including ventilated front seats. However, if you can stretch your budget a bit, you can also get the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Zeta variant that gets you ventilated front seats and a much bigger car than the Venue. It has a smooth torque converter automatic gearbox, a comfy ride and peace of mind that comes with the Maruti badge. The Brezza facelift does not have a known launch time at the moment. Also worth noting is that the Grand Vitara is being offered with discounts, and you can strike a good deal now.

Between the two, the TVS will be the more comfortable and practical choice.The Hero Xoom 125 does have a comfortable suspension, but its seating comfort is rather average. In comparison, the TVS Jupiter 125 offers a spacious, almost-flat seat and a well-judged suspension setup. Both these factors make it a better option, and that’s why we would steer you toward the Jupiter.You could also consider the Suzuki Access125, a scooter which we found to be quite comfortable during our time with it.
