    I’ve been riding a Hero Honda CBZ Extreme for 15 years and want to change. I’m looking for a bike that’s good for adventure touring as well as city rides. I’m torn between the Triumph 4T and the Suzuki V-Strom. I’m about 5′7″ tall and around 40 years old. Please advise.

    The Triumph Speed T4 is an excellent city machine, and you can also cruise on the highway at 100-110kph comfortably. It offers decent suspension comfort and will be a good fit for a one-bike garage. 

    The Suzuki V-Strom SX will have more spacious ergonomics and better wind protection on the highway, but its smaller engine will also limit your comfortable cruising speed to 90-100kph. On the other hand, it will also deliver improved fuel economy in the city.

The best option, considering your needs and budget, would be the Hyundai Creta with the naturally aspirated engine and CVT gearbox. The Creta SX Premium CVT offers good driveability in the city thanks to the CVT gearbox and responsive engine, and it has all the necessary features as well. The advantage of the Creta would be the ride comfort and seat positioning. The seat height is at a comfortable position, making getting in and out easy. The overall visibility and driving manners are effortless, and it would be a good choice to consider.

    Asked by: Subrat Kumar I want a petrol manual car with a 5-star GNCAP safety rating, at least four (or another even number of) cylinders, excellent fuel efficiency, and long-term reliability so I can run it for around 20 years. I’m new to earning and have a limited budget. Please suggest suitable options. Looking at your requirements of reliability and fuel efficiency, along with a good safety rating, we would recommend you look at the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. It is a three-cylinder engine; however, this should not be something you should worry about as the unit has adequate performance, in fact, a very good low-speed response. The Dzire is a sedan, but it fits within the sub-4 meter footprint, and that, along with its light controls, will make it an easy drive for you.

    Asked by: Dr Atul Kumar I am buying a new car and want a decent all-rounder with good mileage. I’m considering the Nissan Magnite (higher variant) and am not keen on sedans. Is it a good choice, or should I consider other options? If so, please suggest alternatives. It's hard to specify a car without knowing something about your needs, but yes, the Nissan Magnite is a good car. The turbo petrol engine is a very good performer, and along with the CVT automatic gearbox, it delivers an enjoyable drive experience. The ride is good, there's a good amount of equipment, and it's very well priced. With the update, Nissan has also addressed some of the cost-cutting issues around the cabin.

    Asked by: Abdulkadir My Highness is smooth and great for two-up riding. I’ve taken it on trips to Kerala and Tawang. Now I want a bike that is compact, fast, and has good suspension for Mumbai city use. Which bike would you suggest? Some options you can consider are the TVS Apache RTR 310, KTM 390 Duke, Triumph Speed 400 and Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. The Triumph and Royal Enfield aren't as overly sporty as the other two and will have a more effortless riding experience owing to their torque delivery, which is earlier in the rev band. The KTM 390 Duke is a proven product when it comes to sheer speed, but in its latest avatar has become quite compact, which may not be the best thing if you are a larger person. Last but not least, the TVS Apache RTR 310 has great handling and reasonable performance. We would recommend getting the variant with the quickshifter on the TVS as that offers the best value for your money. Take a test ride of everything you're considering before you decide.
