•25wI need to replace my Ford EcoSport. My monthly running is 500 km; 30 percent city and 60 percent highway, with occasional 400 km long trips. Budget is Rs 25 lakh. Should I buy an EV? Should I wait for the Tata Sierra? (Current car: 2013 Ford EcoSport)

Even though many electric cars can achieve around 400 km on a single charge, that is the upper limit for your long trips, so choose an EV only if you are confident about the charging infrastructure on your route. If not, stick to an ICE car for now.
The new Tata Sierra is an exciting proposition, although we have yet to find out its exact specifications and do a test drive. It is expected to use 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, and should fall within your budget of Rs 25 lakh.
At first impression, this Tata car appears to be spacious and comfortable with good features as well. There will also be a Sierra EV, but that will launch in early 2026.
