    Hello Autocar, I have been driving my i20 for 9 years, doing about 3000-4000 km a month (daily 100+ km), and now I am looking to upgrade to an SUV. My budget is 10-15 lakh, and I want something with top quality, good mileage, safety, great after-sales service, lots of features, and low maintenance. Which car would you suggest?

I have shortlisted the Honda Amaze VX, Hyundai i20 Sportz, and Hyundai Nios. Please suggest which one I should buy. We suggest the Honda Amaze VX or the Hyundai i20 Sportz automatic, as both use smoother and more premium CVT transmissions compared to the basic AMT in the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.Between the two, the Hyundai i20 IVT is the better pick. It feels more premium and, as a hatchback, is more practical with folding rear seats for added luggage space. It is also spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped in the Sportz variant you are considering.

    Asked by: Rahul Prashant S I am about to buy an automatic, petrol, 7-seater car, keeping the next 12 years in mind. Based on my budget, I have shortlisted the XUV700 AX5 and the Hyundai Alcazar Prestige (DCT). I am a moderate user; my current car has done only around 35,000 km in the last 12 years. My usage is a mix of highway and city driving. If I choose mileage, I feel the Alcazar is better, but in terms of build size and looks, I prefer the XUV700 AX5. I am a bit puzzled between these two. Any suggestions? The Mahindra XUV700 is more spacious and has a punchier engine. Since you plan to hold on to your cars for a long time, we'd recommend you wait till the first quarter of 2026, when Mahindra brings in the updated XUV700 with the latest in terms of tech and features.Another option which you may consider is the upcoming Tata Safari petrol AT - as a seven-seater, it is likely to be comfier than the XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.

    Asked by: Shashi I am looking for a car with easy ingress and egress for my mother, who is a senior citizen with joint pains. She has trouble getting in and out of my Swift. She finds the Wagon R very easy for ingress and egress, but I do not want to move from a Swift to a Wagon R. Hence, I am looking for cars that offer a similar seat height from the ground, where it does not feel like she has to climb into the car or get down to seat height, both of which are difficult for her. The Tata Punch will be a good option and thanks to its high seating and tallboy design, getting in and out will be very easy for her. You could also look at the petrol version of the new Hyundai Venue, which will seem like an upgrade from your Maruti Swift, while meeting all other requirements.

Now, I want to upgrade to a new or used car (open to both) with a budget of 12-20 lakh. I’m confused between the new or used Toyota Hyryder Hybrid, Tata Sierra, new Seltos, Thar Roxx petrol auto, or new/used Honda Elevate ZX CVT. I recently test-drove a used 2023 Jeep Compass S petrol auto, which I liked, but petrol is discontinued, and it’s only E10 compliant. What do you suggest, wait or buy now? With a budget of Rs 20 lakh, your options in the used car market are endless - get the newest possible car you can find, preferably still in warranty. Being an EcoSport owner, it is natural to gravitate towards the Jeep Compass for its toughness and brilliant ride-handling balance.You can look for a less-driven Mahindra XUV700 automatic for its well-roundedness. Out of the new options, the Tata Sierra seems promising and is worth waiting for before you finalize.
