•4dHi, I want to buy a mini SUV with a budget between ₹15-20 lakh. My annual running is around 8,000-9,000 km, mostly in the city. Do you think I would be better off with a strong hybrid or an EV? I had almost finalised the Skoda Kylaq Prestige Plus because of its features and safety rating. However, I then considered extending my budget to ₹20 lakh and going for the Toyota Hyryder Hybrid G variant. I am still confused- given my usage, do I really need a hybrid, or is it a smart choice? I do not plan to replace the car for at least 3 years. Please guide me.

While the strong-hybrid Toyota Hyryder will deliver better efficiency in the city than the Skoda Kylaq, with your limited running, the savings won’t be enough to offset the higher purchase price.
Since you are mostly driving in the city, the Kylaq with its smooth-shifting torque-converter automatic is a smart choice. However, in our experience, the refinement and low-end torque from the engine have room for improvement. The rear seat is also a bit cramped compared to rivals like the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Do take a test drive to see if these are deal-breakers for you.
