I currently own a Pulsar 220 and am planning to buy a new bike. I am confused between the Honda CB350 RS and the Triumph T4. I have test-ridden both bikes. The T4 feels more comfortable and powerful, but its mileage is quite low. Please suggest which one would be the better choice.

If you want the highest level of comfort in this price bracket, there are primarily two options to look at - the Hero MotoCorp Xpulse 210 and the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. The Xpulse will, of course, have the better ride quality of the two with its long travel suspension, but it's actually the Bullet which has the better rider's triangle and seat comfort. There are other factors at play here, too. The Xpulse is taller but lighter, while the Bullet has a lower seat but weighs nearly 200 kilos.A test ride of both will help you decide which is the best option between these two for you.

The 300-400cc segment has a huge variety of options ranging from relaxed neo-retro machines, sporty naked bikes, fully-faired super sports, adventure bikes and dualsports as well as cafe racers. Depending on what sort of bike you like, you are sure to find one that suits your needs. Pick from reputed brands like Honda, Royal Enfield, TVS, KTM and Triumph. It will be hard to recommend a bike without knowing more details and we suggest that you make a list of what is important to you and then choose what works best for you.

The Royal Enfield Scram 440 is a good choice for your usage, although bear in mind that during tight and technical off-road sections, its near-200 kilo kerb weight will need a lot of caution and skill to work around. As a road bike, it is a comfortable, relaxed and fuss-free companion but if you want the latest features and gadgets, this is not the bike for you. The 350cc Triumph Scrambler 400 X is a good allrounder and is actually a rather good handler despite its 19-in front wheel and dual-purpose tyres. Its engine isn't the most characterful though and the tall 835mm saddle may not work for you if you're a shorter person. These are two of the best made-in-India scrambler machines under Rs 3 lakh and depending on the sort of experience you are after, both will work well.
