I’ve been a first adopter of EV and have been driving the Nexon EV since 2020. Now I want to upgrade. Between the newly launched Harrier EV/XEV 9E or the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 (which is available at a similar price with discounts), which is the better option? Thanks.

Go for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 - it is a far more sophisticated and reliable car. Yes, the Indian offerings are better equipped, but if you don't mind sacrificing some of the new-age features, the Ioniq 5 is undeniably the best option at that price point.

If your goal is a stronger, more exciting drive than the 2023 Creta 1.5, you should opt for the Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus. It is a lower, lighter car with a strong turbo-petrol engine and a quick-shifting DSG gearbox. The Creta's turbo-petrol engine option may have a 10hp advantage on paper, but this one feels far stronger in practice. The steering also feels more direct, so on a fast road, the car goes where you point it with less delay. Coming from your current Hyundai Creta, you will immediately feel the extra shove in the mid-range and the sharper response. There are a couple of trade-offs. You will feel bumps a bit more than in your Creta, and though ground clearance is good, it's not as good as that of an SUV.So, for pure driving fun and a real step-up in how it pulls, go Virtus GT Plus DSG. Apart from everything else, it will also feel like a different car, while another Creta will feel too similar to your 2023 model. Do note, there is a facelift for the Vento coming later in the year, so if you can wait a few months, consider doing that.

Which offers a better suspension and ride comfort, the Skoda Kushaq or Kylaq?

If you're comparing ride comfort, the Skoda Kylaq is easily the better pick, particularly variants with 16-inch wheels. Skoda has got its suspension tune spot on, its relatively softer setup makes it more suited to our road conditions. It rounds off speed breakers and rough patches better at slow speeds. Furthermore, the Kylaq feels stable at speeds and is surprisingly nimble and fun-to-drive around corners, too.In contrast, the Kushaq’s suspension feels a little firm at low speeds, so sharp bumps and small potholes do come through more in the cabin.

I am confused between the Tata Harrier Fearless 75, Mahindra BE 6 Pack 2, and Mahindra XEV 9e. My driving is mainly on highways. Which is the better option in terms of range and comfort?

The Mahindra XEV 9e is the better pick, both in terms of range and comfort. On the highway, you can easily expect around 480km of real-world range with the 79kWh battery version. Performance is plenty, its steering is light, suspension setup is good, and seats are comfortable, which makes it ideal for long-distance travel. Also, it is worth noting that the XEV 9e's fast charging speeds are much higher than the Harrier EV's, translating to shorter charging times when connected to a 120kW or faster DC charger.
