Following the positive feedback received for the Lounge Console Concept displayed on the second-gen XC90 at last year’s Beijing motor show, Volvo has now adapted the interior cabin layout in the S90 Excellence.

Showcased at the 2016 Beijing motor show, the S90 Excellence Lounge Console Concept does away with the front passenger seat to free up interior space and enhance forward visibility. This change, according to Robin Page, vice president - Interior Design at Volvo Cars, brings a calming effect to the cabin.

The three-seat interior can serve as a mobile working station with a fold-out work table and a large touchscreen display. It also features reclining seats and heated foot support. The Lounge Console Concept is designed to serve as an entertainment center as well, according to Volvo.

The rear of the interior features a central control panel that provides access to the seats’ massaging function. There are integrated heated and cooled cupholders on the panel as well. Rear passengers can adjust the audio system and access the touchscreen display. To further enhance luxury, Volvo has also fitted the S90 Excellence with a refrigerator unit built into the rear armrest, that also holds two crystal glasses.

The S90 Excellence Lounge Console Concept was shown built into a stand-out display of the car's interior.
