Subaru has showcased a new STI performance concept based on the BRZ two-door coupe. It is likely that this concept will hint at a STI version of the BRZ in the future.
The STI concept features a more aggressive facia than the BRZ, along with a more powerful engine. The car gets a new front with a large air-dams, diffusers at the front and back, centrally mounted exhausts, a large rear wing – a signature design aspect of all STIs – and prominent air-vents on the front and rear bumpers. The concept also features red trim bits on the front airdam, headlamps, rear diffuser and rear wing.
Under the hood, now sits a 2.0-litre flat-four engine generating around 300bhp, a far cry from the standard BRZ’s 197bhp. The STI concept also gets a modified chassis, suspension and aerodynamics.
Subaru has, however, not revealed if this concept will spawn a production model.
