These are the very first pictures of Honda’s Brio caught being tested in Greater-Noida Area.

As seen from the picture, the car's fender and bonnet and sides are covered with black tape, and the headlamps and tail lamps are also covered. However, one can easily see the basic shape and, the test car is equipped with steel wheels and plastic wheel covers.

Honda has styled the Brio very aggressively with a tipped-forward stance; the design echoes Honda’s typical modern skinning including flared wheel-arches.

The Brio will come with a 1198cc four-cylinder engine, the same motor that powers Honda’s larger Jazz. For a car that weighs approximately 70kg less than the Jazz, you can bet that this will be one zippy, small hatch.

Honda offers a CVT version in Thailand, but it is yet to be seen whether the Indian Brio will have this option. Thai-spec Brios also get dual airbags and anti-lock brakes as standard across the range; hopefully, this will be the case in India as well. Despite general cost savings, however, the Brio’s interiors feel well made. The chunky steering is nice to hold, the hooded dials look attractive, and the plastic quality is better than expected.

The Brio is slated to be launched later this year and will be priced at around Rs 4.5 lakh.
