Nissan has updated the Micra for the Indian market. The refreshed Micra gets the addition of orange bits to the interiors, a new steering wheel from the Sunny and other features like follow-me-home headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. Higher trims come with a 2-DIN music system, but there's no touchscreen infotainment on offer.

Mechanically, the Micra is unchanged and engine options include a 1.2-litre petrol motor and a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine. There is still no petrol manual or a diesel automatic variant on offer; this means the petrol engine can be had only with a CVT gearbox, while the diesel comes with a five-speed manual transmission. Prices for the base petrol CVT Micra start at Rs 5.99 lakh, while the top-spec diesel manual variant costs Rs 7.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The stripped-down Micra Active, however, can be had with a petrol manual configuration.  Fuel economy figures for the Micra diesel variant are rated at 23.08kpl, while the X-Tronic CVT Automatic variant returns 19.34kpl under ARAI test conditions. The Micra sold in India is still the previous generation, and Nissan has no plans to bring the all-new, fifth-gen Micra that's on sale in international markets. Direct rivals to the Micra include the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Maruti Swift.
