The 2016 New York motor show opens its doors on the March 23, and as a precursor we take a look at some of the cars that are expected to be making their world premiere at the event.
Mazda
Mazda has not disclosed any details about the car it plans to reveal at the show though it is being speculated that it could be the hard-top coupé sibling of the MX-5 roadster.
Mercedes-AMG E43
Mercedes’ new 395bhp four-door has just been revealed ahead of its New York debut. We know the car makes use of a twin-turbocharged V6 engine, and has its sights firmly locked on the Audi S5. It slightly lags behind class leaders in power output, with a respectable 224bhp/ton on offer. But the model is just one of several new AMGs set to squeeze into this sector.
Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift
Mercedes will also be bringing the facelifted CLA class in it sedan and Shooting Brake guises to the show. The facelifted CLA gets revised styling along with added features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the CLA 45 gets an increase in power to 376bhp, making it 0.4 seconds faster than the older model.
Mini Clubman All4
Mini will be showcasing an all-wheel-drive version of the Mini Clubman at the motor show. Set to only be offered in S and SD guises, the all-wheel-drive system can run as a front-wheel drive or a full four-wheel drive, and offers torque vectoring that works with the driving dynamics system.
