Mahindra is drip-feeding teasers of its concepts in the run-up to their August 15 debut, and the latest is the Vision SXT. The Mahindra Vision SXT will be among the models to be underpinned by the brand’s new NU platform, which is expected to be capable of utilising petrol, diesel, hybrid and all-electric powertrains.

  1. Vision SXT is expected to boast a pickup truck body style
  2. Likely to be an evolution of the Global Pik Up concept from 2023

Mahindra Vision SXT new design details

The latest teaser gives us a look at the face of the upcoming SUV concept, which seems to have some resemblance to the Vision T concept. Both SUVs have similarly flared wheel arches, flat bonnets with side latches, protruding front bumpers and rugged all-terrain tyres.

However, the details on the Vision SXT are much more concept-like – the headlamps appear to comprise two protruding LED units housed within a scooped-out indent; the details on the grille are not really discernible, but it does not look like Mahindra’s traditional grille, and the mirrors also appear very concept-like with scooped-out bits for the arm holding them.

A previous teaser did hint that the Vision SXT will have a pickup truck body style. It showed the rear end of the concept with a pickup truck-like load area with spare tyres strapped on to it. This suggests it could be an evolution of the Global Pik Up Concept from 2023, which had a similar detail.

The difference here is that instead of a full tailgate panel for opening the load bed, this one has a see-through area below. It also gets slim tail-lamp units, flared wheel arches and a chunky rear bumper.

No other details are available on the Vision SXT at the moment. While its design does seem to have commonality with the Vision T, suggesting it could be another model in the Thar range, this has yet to be confirmed. We’ll know more about the SXT concept once it debuts on August 15, alongside three other concepts and the new platform vision. Stay tuned.
