Mercedes-AMG has introduced new limited edition models of the GLE 43 SUV coupé (OrangeArt) priced at Rs Rs 1.02 crore and SLC 43 convertible (RedArt) priced at Rs 87.84 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Both models will have a limited run of just 25 units.
As the name suggests, the new GLE 43 4Matic Coupé OrangeArt edition gets orange highlights on the lower section of the front and rear bumper and on the 21-inch black-finished alloy wheels. It also comes with LED headlamps fitted with black LED rings. The insides get touches of orange with the back nappa leather upholstery getting orange and grey cross-stitching. The AMG-lettering, floor mats and door panels also get an orange finish.
Like the OrangeArt, the SLC 43 RedArt edition gets red highlights in the same places, including on the 18-inch alloy wheels. Red touches can also be seen on the front and rear bumpers and the brake calipers. The red touched make their way inside the cabin as well, which is meant to contrast the interiors that get a carbon-fibre-like finish with leather embossing.
Under the hood, both models share the 3.0-litre, V6 turbo-petrol motor mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission that puts out 367hp and 520Nm of torque. While the SUV is a four-wheel drive, the convertible is rear-wheel driven.
Compared to the standard models, the limited editions of the GLE 43 and SLC 43 cost about Rs 15 lakh and Rs 8.4 lakh more, respectively.
After the launch of the E 63 S 4Matic, this is Mercedes-AMG’s second launch in 2018.
