Mahindra announces price hike

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd will be increasing prices of its passenger and commercial vehicles from January 1, 2014. The price increase will be in the range of up to two percent. 
 
The price hike decision is a result of the increase in the cost of sourcing raw materials, other input costs and freight rates. Till now Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai,Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, Honda and Renault have announced a price hike which will come into effect from January 2014.
 
“We have been holding back prices for a while but now it has become necessary to raise them to partly compensate the increase in materials, input and freight costs. As always, Mahindra remains committed to its customers,” said Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
