EXCLUSIVE!
Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg is going to bring its latest hypercar, the Agera, to India.
The name Agera comes from the Swedish verb ‘to act’, and Koenigsegg is acting fast to get its latest model to India in early 2011 soon after its international launch. Fast cars and Indian roads are a mismatch but a long list of supercar makers want to bring their cars to India. Bugatti has already sold the Veyron at approximately
Rs 16 crore to a couple of Indian customers who will soon receive delivery.
Not just a fascination for speed will do though; you’d also need a bank account with more zeroes than your phone number because the car will cost approximately Rs 9.60 crore when it goes on sale.
The mid-engined 4.7-litre aluminium V8 with twin-turbo superchargers develops a colossal 910bhp and a max torque of 112kgm at 5100rpm. Impressive acceleration figures of 3.1 seconds to the 100kph mark, 200kph in 8.9sec and an estimated top speed of 390kph sends this 1290kg beast bang into Veyron territory!
The company has developed a new kind of interior illumination called ‘ghost light’ that uses invisible nano tubes to increase the visibility of the instrument cluster.
Only 16-20 cars will be built every year and Koenigsegg has already begun to take orders since the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010.
