Killer deals this month: lakhs off new cars

With Holi over, you could be forgiven for feeling a little disheartened now that all the fun is over. But don’t forget, this is also deal season, where manufacturers give away some of the best deals in the year. Autocar India has trawled through dealerships to bring you this exclusive story on the current hottest deals.
Walk into any Maruti showroom and you can still keep some of your life savings – most of their products are currently discounted. The Estilo and A-Star hatches have a substantial Rs 35,000 price-cut, and 17,000-worth of exchange bonuses are on offer too.
The SX4’s petrol variant is being sold with a Rs 39,000 cash discount as well as 20,000 worth of exchange bonus if you wish to trade in your current car. The Alto K10 and F8 currently have Rs 18,000/25,000 discounts and 10,000/11,000 exchange bonuses. With the Swift, this bonus is just Rs 5,000, as with the Eeco van. The Maruti Omni is available with Rs 9,000 off and a Rs 8,000 exchange bonus. The Wagon R’s LX, LXi, LPG and VXi models come with Rs 15,000 exchange incentives and discounts of between Rs 10,000 and 18,000. Maruti’s deals continue with the Ritz, which in diesel or petrol form comes with Rs 20,000 to 36,000 slashed from the price, and Rs 12,000 exchange bonuses too.
The popular Ford Figo hatch is available with basic optional extras thrown in, as well as an extended warranty. If you’re willing to negotiate with the dealer, you may be able to take advantage of a Rs 4,000-10,000 cash discount. Pay Rs 3,000 and the Fiat Punto is offered with free insurance and extended warranty (worth a combined Rs 30,000).
Also in this segment, the Honda Jazz Select Edition is now being offered with Rs 44,000 in deals comprising of free insurance and a cash discount.
Worth a visit this month are local Hyundai dealerships, offering deals on three of their respective models. The Hyundai Santro and i10 are to have free insurance (Rs 12,000/14,000) and exchange bonuses worth Rs 10,000 and 15,000. The Verna Transform represents even better value than normal with a respectable discount of Rs 20,000.
Chevrolet is offering some great deals as well. The U-VA is currently available with Rs 15,000 knocked off. Similarly, the Optra comes with Rs 26,000 off and the Aveo saloon a sizeable 40,000 off. The two smallest Chevrolet models also benefit from April savings with a hefty Rs 46,000 to be had off the Spark, and Rs 5,000 cash discount with Rs 14,000 insurance cover provided upon purchase of the Beat.
The Mahindra Xylo MPV is already a cheap alternative to its rivals, but now it comes with 50% of the insurance costs removed – up to Rs 18,000, as well as a free extended warranty.
Tata is in on the discount bandwagon too. Three of its line-up are available with Rs 5,000-20,000 discounts (Indigo, Safari & Sumo). And the Nano comes with Rs 5,000 of free insurance cover and a 1gm gold coin worth Rs 2,200 too!
