E-class gets new powerplant

Mercedes-Benz has launched new E-class variants; E250 V6 & E250 CDI.

Mercedes-Benz has introduced two new models of the E-class with new engine options; E250 V6 and E250 CDI BlueEfficiency.

The E 250 V6 is powered by a 6-cylinder 2497cc engine which produces 204bhp while churning out 25kgm of maximum torque. The V6 comes with Merc’s 7G-Tronic automatic transmission with an electronically limited top speed of 250kph. It also gets newly designed 17inch alloy wheels.

The E 250 CDI BlueEfficiency comes with a 4-cylinder in-line 2143cc motor producing 201bhp with an output of 51kgm of max torque from as low as 1600-1800rpm.

On the outside, the new E-class gets newly designed twin headlamps, three louver arrow shaped bonnet with chrome touches and sporty bumper at the rear. The E-class also features Merc’s latest technologies like Attention Assist-drowsiness system, LED daytime lightning with intelligent lighting system and advanced parking guidance.

Available with Elegance styling, the new E-class models are priced at Rs 39.87 lakh and Rs 41.13 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the E250 CDI BlueEfficiency and E250 V6 respectively.
