Aston Martin has confirmed that it will launch its Vulcan hypercar at the Geneva motor show in March. The Aston Martin Vulcan name and launch date has been confirmed in a by the company in an official video release.

No additional details of the Vulcan exist at this stage, and the video only teases the vocal nature of the car. However, our sister publication, Autocar UK, understands the Vulcan will be a track-only hypercar model to rival the likes of the McLaren P1 GTR and LaFerrari FXX K, and will be available in strictly limited numbers, most likely less than 30.The Vulcan is also understood to have been inspired by Aston’s motorsport programmes. It will be the most extreme non-race Aston Martin produced in the company’s 102-year history.

Expect a V12 engine with a power output that could match the One-77’s 750bhp, a whole host of lightweight features such as carbonfibre bodywork and a stripped-out interior, and an extreme aerodynamic body.Aston is also likely to offer the car with a driver programme, as Ferrari does with its XX models. This could include driver training and bespoke track days to allow drivers to get the most out of their car.

It will be joined at the Geneva motor show by the most extreme Aston road car ever, the Vantage GT3.
