Honda has revealed the Civic Si coupé and sedan for the North American market. Both Si models come with Honda’s 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is capable of producing 205hp and 260Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Honda claims both power and torque are available lower down in the rev range than the previous Si, with dual variable cam timing a standout feature of the engine.

The Civic Si variants are claimed to be stiffer and lighter than their predecessors. They also feature more high-end performance upgrades, including adaptive dampers, an upgraded limited-slip differential and an upgraded power steering system, as well as the option of performance tyres to complement the upgraded brakes. The suspension's front upper control arms are shared with the Civic Type R.

The driver can choose between Normal and Sport driving modes, with the latter stiffening the suspension and making the throttle more responsive.

Both models get remote engine start, keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control, automatic wipers and heated front seats as standard, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 10-speaker sound system.

Inside, the Si models are marked out with red stitching across the interior, as well as carbon-fibre bits, red stitching and aluminium highlights on the dials, pedals and gear knob.

For India, Honda is currently evaluating the launch of the current-gen Civic sedan. Read more on that here.
