Toyota has added a special-edition of the Fortuner SUV, the TRD Sportivo, to its India line-up. The new variant has been offered for the first time on the current-gen Fortuner. Toyota had offered the TRD Sportivo trim on the previous-gen Fortuner as well.
The 2017 Fortuner TRD Sportivo is available only in a pearl white exterior paint shade. Priced at Rs 31.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), it gets unique front and rear bumper extensions, a TRD-badged radiator grille, and special 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, it gets red stitching on the seats and other interior bits, and additional TRD Sportivo badging.
Under the hood, the Fortuner TRD Sportivo comes gets only a 2.8-litre diesel AT configuration with 2WD. It carries forward the standard SUV’s features like various drive modes, traction control, seven airbags, four-wheel disc brake system and hill start assist. Additional equipment includes LED headlamps with daytime running lights, push-start button, automatic tailgate, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control and a multi-info display for the driver.
The Fortuner rivals the likes of the Ford Endeavour, the Jeep Compass, the Hyundai Tucson, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, the Isuzu MU-X and the Volkswagen Tiguan in our market. Toyota recently added more features to its Innova and Fortune range in India, read more on that here.
