With just few days remaining before the official unveil of the new Jawa motorcycles in India, the brand has released its latest teaser. This teaser video gives us a glimpse of the upcoming roadster-style bike – but more importantly we get to hear the bike's exhaust note; something that sounds a lot better if you've got a pair of earphones on.

Company officials have repeatedly stressed on the fact that they have worked hard to mimic the original Jawa’s exhaust note. While the new bike can’t match the ‘ring-a-ding-ding’ two-stroke note, it does sound rather bassy and throaty, and could turn out to be quite nice to hear live.

However, we will reserve our final opinion until we listen to the 293cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor in person. One can also hear a crisp gear shift in the video and it hints at a 6-speed unit with a slick shift. Watch the teaser video here.

The teaser also shows the roadster, but we expect to see a a scrambler/ adventure tourer and a bobber-style offering as well. Last week, a leaked image of the upcoming bike gave us a clear look of the design details of the new Jawa. The new motorcycle takes its design cues from the older bike, which will please the brand loyalists. The distinctive headlight profile, dual-tone chrome finish on the fuel tank, flat saddle, period-specific telescopic fork, twin peashooter pipes and flared, pinstriped mudguards are reminiscent of the Jawa 250 Type A. Those looking for something a little different may find that in the sibling Scrambler/ADV or Bobber offerings.

Powering the new Jawa is a single-cylinder motor producing 27hp and 28Nm of peak torque. According to the company officials, the new bike will be BS-VI-ready as well. The frame is suspended on a telescopic fork, and twin shock-absorbers with gas-charged canisters at the back. Braking hardware on the roadster consists of a single disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the rear. The other models are expected to have a rear disc brake as well. Single-channel ABS comes as standard fitment.

The new Jawa motorcycle will compete against the highly popular Royal Enfield Classic 350, and we believe it will be priced to undercut the similarly positioned Royal Enfield offerings.
